[edit] 6/22/2011 Incident Log

Cause: Unkown

On finding out that there were issues with the FMS the server was rebooted (soft) from console and these errors are thrown on startup:

  Starting HAL daemon: [FAILED]
Starting httpd: (98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address [::]:80
(98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address
no listening sockets available, shutting down

Upon rebooting the server and that having no effect it was brought to my attention that there may be an issue with the order in which the services/daemons on the server were started. I started and stopped the httpd and the fms service through /etc/init.d/ and finally was able to get both services to start correctly.

I had to first stop both the httpd and fms service and then start the httpd and then the fms daemons sequentially, example:

Working Code

sudo /etc/init.d/httpd stop
sudo /opt/adobe/fms/server stop
sudo /etc/init.d/httpd start
sudo /opt/adobe/fms/server start

Old Code

cd /etc/init.d/
./httpd stop
./fms stop
./httpd start
./fms start
